The Dorm Student Council has proposed creating non-smoking areas inside the dormitories. This proposal will be delivered to the Administration as one of main issues of Dorm Student Council around the end of December.
This issue has been under consideration since last February. The Dorm Student Council investigated the ratio of non-smokers to smokers last March and April, and reviewed enforcement of ordinances and regulations through last July. They also completed physical checkup result analysis only a few weeks ago. The result was the non-smoking zone proposal, which passed by vote earlier this month.
Opinion was split over whether all, or only some, of the public area should be appointed as non-smoking area for the student having trouble with smoking. The Dorm Student Council is still accepting students' opinion about this, and will continue to do so until December 2nd.
They will make the final decision after the discussing the matter with representatives of smokers group in the early December.
