THE KAIST TIMES http://kaisttimes.com |
On November 8th, KAIST faculty began a series of 16 lectures introducing their courses to students. The first of these covered Electrical Engineering. As of yesterday, 12 lectures had been completed. The remaining 6 will take place soon.
The presentations use a variety of techniques to increase people's interest. These include motion picture shows, PowerPoint presentations, and personal accounts of friendly extracurricular activities and course environments. Mechanical engineering grabbed attention very effectively by connecting with one of their alumni, a professor in US, with a television link. Mathematics provided an excellent motion picture. Presentations held at night also offered pizza and snack food for students.
In-ho Lee, a freshman who attended one of these presentations, said, "It is very helpful because I could hear detailed accounts from alumni as well as course descriptions."
