2-Piece Cylinder Design UTA in Use

Oceaneering International, Inc. has designed, manufactured and installed a custom Umbilical Termination Assembly (UTA) design that fits through a 1.3-meter tensioner for offshore applications. The new UTA design features hydraulic and electrical connections configured into a 2-piece frame. The design allows the two assemblies to be separated during termination work.

Lead times during manufacturing are reduced since assembly and fabrication processes can be performed in parallel instead of series. The UTA is deployed separately from the mudmat, offering more flexibility than the older design.
