Hyung-kyung Lee, the assistant of KAIST President Robert B. Laughlin, has made news recently though his English textbook.

Mr. Lee is a writer who worked at the San Francisco Korea Times and the Science Times as a reporter, and also worked at the Silicon Valley branch of IBM. Due to his journalistic experience, his writing skill both in English and Korean is outstanding. This book introduces how to lead a conversation with limited English ability. The title is How to talk with Native Speakers Naturally (Youngjin Live).

Mr. Lee explains that his own know-how leading conversation as a non-English speaker was gained through painful experience in America. For example, he was once fired because he used the term “I am sorry” the wrong way at a company in his early days in America.

Readers’ reviews on this book are very positive. It was ranked 4th in the business English section of Interpark, the most famous internet book sales site, one month after publication.

Mr. Lee said, “I just wanted to write about what I went through in US so that other people wouldn’t repeat the same mistakes.” He added with smile, “All the stories in this book are from my experience. I hope that telling them will make things easier for English learners.&rdquo
